The SEDRIS Data Representation Model
APPENDIX B - Constraints
Colour Table Size

Definition

All the <Colour Table> instances within a <Colour Table Group> shall be of the same size; that is, all <Colour Table> components of a <Colour Table Group> shall have the same number of <Primitive Colour> components. However, <Colour Table> components of a <Colour Table Group> are free to have different types of <Primitive Colour> components from each other (e.g., some using <Specular Colour>, some not).

Rationale

This is a requirement in order to allow the <Colour Table> instances within a <Colour Table Group> to be interchangeable.

Example

  1. An <Colour Table Group> contains three <Colour Table> components: one for an Out-The-Window view, one for a RADAR view, and one for an Infra-Red view. All three <Colour Table> instances contain 234 <Primitive Colour> components. Entry 234 in each <Colour Table> is a <Primitive Colour> for the representation of "granite" in the three different domains.
