• Compact Terrain Database (CTDB) is terrain representation used in JointSAF/ModSAF/OneSAF Testbed Computer Generated Forces (CGF)

  • Terrain skin and bathymetry
    • Gridded or TINed
  • Physical Features
    • Affect intervisibility
    • Trees, canopies, laid linears
    • Volume models
  • Abstract Features
    • Used for planning
    • Area feature boundaries (tree canopies, lakes)
  • Road and river networks
  • Highly compact to fit as much of the terrain into memory as possible
