Reference Surface
Optional component of Geometry Hierarchy, Feature Hierarchy
Any Location 2Ds in the aggregate, by definition, do not carry elevation/z information. Conceptually, a Location 2D describes a ray to the “surface of the earth”, where its intersection with that surface is its elevation.
The Reference Surface explicitly defines the surface to be used in the determination of this elevation/z information.
