Operations on Coordinates
Coordinate Conversion is the process of determining the equivalent spatial location of a point in a SRF which is based on the same object reference model (e.g., ERM), but a different coordinate system.
Coordinate Transformation is the process of determining the equivalent spatial location of a point in a SRF which is based on the same coordinate system, but a different object reference model (e.g., ERM).
Converting coordinates between two arbitrary Spatial Reference Frames may require both Coordinate Conversion and Coordinate Transformation.
Other types of operations are also required, e.g.:
- Direction (azimuth and elevation angle)
