Example Attribute Enumerant Entry
- For each EA whose EDCS Attribute Value Type is ENUMERATION, there is a set of enumerant values
- The pre-specified ones (common: 1-10)
- The unique ones (starting at 11 …)
- Each (set of) EEs is associated with exactly one EA.
- Therefore, an EE does not stand alone, but must be interpreted within the context of that EA.
- The EE definition, label and code are unique only within the context of that EA
- Thus there may be several EAL = RED
- But a RED SUNSET_COLOUR isn’t the same concept of “red” as a RED FACE_COLOUR
- Thus there are many EECs = 11
- But only one for the EA = 4 (ACCURACY)
- Each EE can be thought of as existing within a concept-space bounded by the EA of which it is an enumerate.
