SRF Example
A planetary body is represented by an ORM composed of:
- A mass-center,
- A rotational axis and equatorial plane,
- A defined prime meridian, and
- An ellipsoid of revolution ORS
A right-handed 3D orthonormal coordinate system with the following relationships to the ORS is defined:
- The origin of the coordinate system is at the center of the ellipsoid of revolution
- The Z-axis of the coordinate system is aligned with the minor axis of the ellipsoid of revolution origin, with the positiveZ-axis pointing towards north based on the spin axis of the planet
- The plane of the X-Y axis of the coordinate system is the plane swept out by the semi-major axis of the ellipse, which coincides with the equator of the planet
- The X-axis of the coordinate system passes through the defined prime meridian
