Distortion in Projection-based SRFs
Distortion is commonly measured in terms length, area, angles and shape
For conformal projections, angles in the plane of the projection are not distorted
For projections from an ORS, it is not possible to simultaneously control all the distortion parameters
Some projections mitigate some subset of the distortion parameters – this has led to a proliferation of projections that are derived for different applications
