See Table 8.1 for the table of contents for this clause.
Table 8.1 -- Table of contents
This International Standard uses EDCS Organizational Schema (EOs) to arrange ECs and EAs into sets based on similarity. An EO is the end result of a process of classification and consists of a set of EDCS Groups (EGs). All EOs in this International Standard shall be complete, meaning that that each EC and each EA is a member of at least one EG. The EDCS Organizational Schema Dictionary is presented in tables with its EDCS Dictionary Entries grouped alphabetically by the first letter of the EOL.
This International Standard uses EGs to collect similar ECs and EAs. The EDCS Group Dictionary is presented in tables with its EDCS Dictionary Entries grouped alphabetically for each EO by the first letter of the EGL.
The EOs specified in this International Standard are presented in Table 8.3. The contents of each field of an EDCS Organizational Schema Dictionary Entry are listed in Table 8.2.

The EDCS Dictionary Entries are grouped alphabetically by the first letter of the EOL, and this presentation is reflected in the structure of Table 8.3. This International Standard defines a General Organizational Schema based on natural and/or scientific principles. The EGs of this EO are given in Table 8.5.

This International Standard uses EGs to collect similar ECs and EAs. Each EG has a unique definition, and is designated by both a unique EGL and a unique EGC. The EDCS Group Dictionary is presented in tables with its EDCS Dictionary Entries grouped alphabetically for each EO by the first letter of the EGL. In order to clarify the presentation of multiple EGs for each EO, the applicable EO is listed once prior to the listing of its set of EGs. The EO is then not repeated for each of its EGs and instead this field is greyed out.
The EGs specified in this International Standard are presented in Table 8.5 and in Annex F. The contents of each field of an EDCS Group Dictionary Entry are listed in Table 8.4.
