Requirements and Assumptions
Develop a PC based system that can be used to visualize 3D models of port and harbor environments to include air, land, sea, terrain, and bottom topography (winds, currents, port traffic, entrance channels, buildings, piers, jetties, NAVAIDS, etc.)
Develop a system using an open architecture (non-proprietary)
Provide an “out-the-window” visual system that includes visualization of interactive environmental effects (e.g., reduced visibility, visual cues such as eddies around buoys caused by winds, tides, currents, etc.)
Develop a system that is interoperable with other simulations utilizing standard interoperability technologies such as SEDRIS, HLA, and DIS
Develop a system capable to support training and mission rehearsal scenarios
