In urban areas problem is very difficult
- Complex numerical techniques (e.g., CFD) applied
- Slow, arguments as to appropriateness
- Dstl has developed fast empirical model called Urban Dispersion Model (UDM)
- Based on ~2,500 wind tunnel experiments
- UDM has been integrated into a version of HPAC
