About This Tutorial
DESCRIPTION A working knowledge of the interface specification and the SEDRIS API is key to developing SEDRIS-based applications. This tutorial provides insights into the basic capabilities of the SEDRIS API, and introduces the attendee to the most key functions and data structures used by the application developers. The relationship of the API to the Data Representation Model (DRM) and the SEDRIS Transmittal Format (STF) is discussed, and examples of simple applications are given.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND Software engineers who intend to design and implement SEDRIS-based applications, or anyone who is interested in learning the design and implementation of the SEDRIS API.
PREREQUISITE A working knowledge of C and/or C++ and the SEDRIS DRM is required. Some experience with object-oriented design is also recommended.
WHAT TO EXPECT Attendees should gain an understanding of the capabilities and conventions of the SEDRIS API, and also knowledge of how to implement these capabilities in code to be able to extract, insert or edit SEDRIS transmittals.
