Interchange vs. Interoperability
Interchange of data does not guarantee interoperability
Two forms of data interchange:
- Dynamic Interchange (network packets)
- Static Interchange (set parameters, databases, geometry)
Robust interchange is critical to interoperability
In the simulation domain, interoperability is achieved if: the perception of same event is similar when it is viewed /experienced from different simulators / simulations
Resolution of perception, not necessarily data resolution, is key
