Taylor/Maclaurin Series Methods
Taylor series always exist for the type of transformations considered
Advantages:
- Very useful for derivations
- Can be used to get theoretical error bounds
- Object Reference Model parameters embedded as variables
- Power series can be inverted to yield the inverse function
Disadvantages:
- Successive terms get very complex and hard to derive
- Truncation error tends to grow rapidly away from expansion point
- Almost always not as efficient as curve fitting or direct approximation
