Distortion-Accuracy Tradeoff Experiment for TM
To support this experiment, linear distortion was chosen as the evaluation parameter.
The TM representation is the TEC SR-7 formulation shown in the next slide.
The exact solution is the TEC SR-7 series solution enhanced with two more terms in the series taken from P. D. Thomas, also shown in the next slide.
Point (or local) scale is directly related to linear distortion.
Point scale is defined in terms of meters per kilometer.
Point scale: < 1 means a line is too short. > 1 means a line is too long.
