Temperature anywhere on the hood, at any time can be represented by a linear combination of these two 1-D basis functions, TH(z,t) and TL(z,t), weighted by H(x,y)

H(x,y) is obtainable either from empirical measurement (FLIR) or 3D predictive models thermal imagery data (FLIR, etc.)
