Environmental Data Coding Specification
Table H.1 -- Table of contents
Table H.2 -- Table of
tables
For each EDCS dictionary (EC through EG), the corresponding Table
H.3 through H.11 lists words and their abbreviations, as well as phrases and their acronyms, to be used for constructing labels. In these tables the notation "[nnn]" where nnn represents one or more letters means that the letters between the brackets are appended to the base word or partial word in the indicated position to give alternate but related words that have the same abbreviation or acronym. For example, the entry "administrat[ion][ive]" means that both the word "administration" and the word "administrative" may be abbreviated with the abbreviation "ADMIN" in the adjacent column.
