Definition

An instance of this DRM class specifies a <Location_3D> where a consuming application may attach other <Model> instances.

Example

  1. Consider an aircraft <Model>, the hard points of which are represented as <Attachment Point> instances. Consider a second <Model>, representing a missile. One missile hangs below the wing, and another missile hangs from the tip of the wing. In this case, the matrix formed by the <Attachment Point> instances would convey the appropriate rotation. The missile, on the other hand, would use an <LSR Transformation> to move the missile's origin (which would probably be its <Centre Of Mass>) to the point on or near the surface where it attaches to the airplane's <Attachment Point> instances.
