What is the SEDRIS API ?
The SEDRIS API is an encapsulation of the functionality required to produce and/or consume SEDRIS Transmittals.
Why provide and API and not just a format specification ?
- It provides a consistent interface between a user’s (either a data provider or a data consumer) software application and SEDRIS transmittals.
- It decouples the user’s application from the transmittal’s format, allowing the SDRM, the transmittal format, and the user’s application to evolve relatively independently of each other.
- Provides functions to simplify the navigation of complex transmittals.
- It focuses the developers efforts on the consumption or production of SEDRIS transmittals rather than access.
