Distortion in Projection-based SRFs
Distortion is commonly measured in terms length, area, angles and shape.
For conformal projections angles are not distorted.
For projections from an ERM it is not possible to simultaneously control all the distortion parameters.
Some projections mitigate some subset of the distortion parameters. This has led to a proliferation of projections that are derived for different applications.
