To support this example linear distortion was chosen as the evaluation parameter.
The UTM representation is the TEC SR-7 formulation previously shown.
The exact solution is the TEC SR-7 series solution enhanced with two more terms in the series taken from P. D. Thomas.
Point (or local) scale is directly related to linear distortion.
Point scale is defined in terms of meters per kilometer.
Point scale: < 1 means a line is too short, > 1 means a line is too long.
