CTDB FormatTINs

• TIN elevation data are stored in patch structures

  • Patches are generally ~500 square meter sections of the CTDB (4 elevation posts a side at 125 meter post spacing)

• Terrain elements (TEs) are vertices of polygons that make up the terrain skin

  • Includes elevation information and references into the Polygon Attribute Table

• A Virtual Grid is overlaid on the TEs, and each cell is mapped to the TE that has the largest area within that particular cell
