Triangulated Irregular Networks (TINs)

• Created from the vertices of <Polygon> objects where the following conditions are met:

  • The SE_INACTIVE_POLYGON flag is not set, AND either
  • The polygon’s classification maps to the “terrain” entry of Features File, OR
  • The polygon’s SE_TERRAIN_POLYGON flag is set

• Created from <Property Grid> objects where the following conditions are met:

  • The property grid’s classification maps to the “elevation_grid” entry of Features File
  • Must contain two <Spatial Axes> (x_axis & y_axis)
  • Attributed with one <Table Property Description> object whose attribute code maps to the “elevation_value” entry of Features File

• Virtual grid and topology are created by the backend compiler
