Universal Feature Face
|
Class Name: Universal Feature Face
Subclasses
This DRM class is concrete and has no subclasses.
Definition
An instance of this DRM class is a <Feature Face>
that represents the infinite area "outside" an explicitly
defined topological surface. A
<Universal Feature Face>
has no explicitly defined outer boundary, but will have at least one
explicit inner boundary.

Secondary Pages in DRM Diagram:
This class appears on only one page of the DRM class diagram.
Example
- A topological surface represents the terrain surface over a one degree
square area. The <Universal Feature
Face> instance within this topological
surface represents the infinite area outside of this one degree square.
FAQs
- When is a <Universal Feature Face>
instance required?
- At feature topology level 3, a single
<Universal Feature Face> instance is
required within each separate topological surface, in order to fulfill
the requirement for an exclusive and exhaustive partitioning of the
topological surface. <Universal Feature
Faces> are not used at any other
feature topology level, and are not normally associated with an
<Areal Feature>.
