This International Standard uses EDCS Attributes (EAs) to describe the state of environmental objects. Each EA has a unique definition, and is designated by both a unique EAL and a unique EAC. Each EA has an EDCS Attribute Value Type and may have an associated EQ. The EDCS Attribute Dictionary is presented in tables with its EDCS Dictionary Entries grouped alphabetically by the first letter of the EAL. This International Standard does not associate any EA with any EC(s).

For each EA whose EDCS Attribute Value Type is ENUMERATION, this International Standard defines the elements of the set of values of that EA as EDCS Attribute Enumerants (EEs). Each EE has a definition, and is designated by both an EEL and an EEC. The definition, EEL and EEC are unique only within the context of that EA. The EDCS Attribute Enumerant Dictionary is presented in tables with the EDCS Dictionary Entries grouped alphabetically by the first letter of the corresponding EAL.

6.2 EDCS Attribute Dictionary

The EAs specified in this International Standard are presented in Tables 6.4 through 6.29 and in Annex D, Tables D.2 through D.27. The contents of each field of an EDCS Attribute Dictionary Entry are listed in Table 6.2.

Definition	The definition of the EA (see 4.2.1 Definitions).
Attribute value type	The EDCS Attribute Value Type (see 4.4.2 EDCS Attribute value types and storage types).
Unit Equivalence Class label	If the EDCS Attribute Value Type is INTEGER or REAL then this field contains a list of one or more EQLs (see 4.8 Unit Equivalence Classes). The presentation of this field is grey for all other EDCS Attribute Value Types.
Related concepts	Other ECs, EAs or EEs that may be related to this EA (see 4.13.5 Guidelines for related concepts).
Code	The EAC (see 4.2.3 Codes).
Groups	The EGLs of the EGs in EO GENERAL of which this EA is a member (see 4.10 EDCS Groups).
Reference type	The type of the references (see 4.2.4.3 Types of references).
References	The references for this EA (see 4.2.4 References). If there are no references, this field contains "none".

The EDCS Attribute Dictionary Entries are grouped alphabetically by the first letter of the EAL, and this presentation is reflected in the structure of Table 6.3.

6.3 EDCS Attribute Enumerant Dictionary

The EEs specified in this International Standard are presented in Tables 6.32 through 6.57 and in Annex E, Tables E.2 through E.27. The contents of each field of an EDCS Attribute Enumerant Dictionary Entry are listed in Table 6.30. In order to clarify the presentation of multiple EEs for each EA, the applicable EA is listed once prior to the listing of its set of EEs. The EA is then not repeated for each of its EEs and instead this field is greyed out.

Enumerant label	The EEL (see 4.2.2 Labels).
Definition	The definition of the EE, except where no EEL is presented in which case it is the definition for the EA (see 4.2.1 Definitions).
Related concepts	Other ECs, EAs or EEs that may be related to this EE (see 4.13.5 Guidelines for related concepts).
Code	The EEC (see 4.2.3 Codes).
References	The references for this EE (see 4.2.4 References). If there are no references, this field contains "none".
Reference type	The type of the references (see 4.2.4.3 Types of references).

There are EEs that are identically specified for every attribute whose EDCS Attribute Value Type is ENUMERATION. These identically specified EEs are listed in Table 4.3. These values are not explicitly listed in Tables 6.32 through 6.57.

Within each table, EEs are first listed alphabetically by EAL and then for each EA, the EEs are listed in the ascending order of the EECs. This presentation is reflected in the structure of Table 6.31.
