Table 5.1 -- Table of contents
This International Standard uses EDCS Classifications (ECs) to specify the type of environmental objects. Each EC has a unique definition, and is designated by both a unique ECL and a unique ECC. The EDCS Classification Dictionary is presented in tables with its EDCS Dictionary Entries grouped alphabetically by the first letter of the ECL. This International Standard does not associate any EC with any EA(s).
The ECs specified in this International Standard are presented in Tables 5.4 through 5.29 and in Annex C, Tables C.2 through C.27. The contents of each field of an EDCS Classification Dictionary Entry are listed in Table 5.2.

The EDCS Classification Dictionary Entries are grouped alphabetically by the first letter of the ECL, and this presentation is reflected in the structure of Table 5.3.
